[Poll #1551476]

Leia Organa Solo is a human female in her mid-thirties. She is a powerful Force-adept, although she came to it later in life than most, and is capable of using a lightsaber, blasters, and other weapons. She is an excellent marksman and rarely misses a target. Part of her training as a Republic Senator involved combat and self-defense, and she is a capable hand-to-hand fighter.

and by now you all know Zoe Washburne quite well.

This is the first elimination round of Level 2. Whoever loses this one is out! Poll will be open until Saturday, April 17. Have fun!

Ok, so, due to one of Google Maps' occasionally interesting errors, the route I will be taking to New Job is not what I had originally thought. It is actually entirely by bus, but takes about an hour and 20 minutes. Which, whatever. At least it doesn't involve walking up a very long street. So, farewell new shoes, hello saving money.

Less than a month until Canada! So excited. Making a suitcase list based on the amazing traveling hijinks of the academichic women. This will be my first out-of-country travel since London in 2006 and I am so happy. I tend to wanderlust.

Speaking of travels, I found on NPR a very definite recipe for gateau Basque (provided by a baker-lady who learned how to make it in Spain, so I assume it's as accurate as may be). Going to have to make it this summer; it is just so damned GOOD. Also on the list: pork (our rosemary plant is big enough to harvest from!), carrot-raisin salad, and a "Mexican lasagna" which I found courtesy of Mrs. B.

Excuse me, I must wipe up the drool off my computer.

Ummm yes. Your icon is perfect for this occasion. I think I looked like that when I StumbleUponed the recipe and then reverted to four years ago and had to look up pictures of San Sebastian.

We should make it together! I'm sure I'll be home for a weekend at some point. Like Memorial Day weekend! SWFC's campus is closed that Monday. :D

Memorial Day Weekend is the Glee concert! One or both of us is going to be in NYC. :)

Ohhh yes. Ok, maybe 4th of July then.

PS: based on the size of my first New Job paycheck, I may be joining you for that. We shall see!

Hee, I like the idea of eating a Basque delicacy on the 4th of July. :D

And yay for New Job paycheck! Hopefully it'll be able to swing you up to the city. I too am looking at my bank account trying to make sure it'll stretch for the Glee-ness.

JetBlue sent me an e-mail with a bunch of spring/summer deals on flights from Orlando to NYC but they are blacked out for Memorial Day weekend. Boo! :(

Fingers crossed! I guess it's not surprising that Memorial weekend would be THE time to fly, alas and alack.

And yes. I think we should rep multiculturalism and have an international Fourth! Surely your mom would be behind this. We could make the Mexican lasagna too! And I could provide a fine selection of German beers via Mr Dunderbak's. :D

Mm, German beers! I love it! D'y'know... I think my parents are totally repping multiculturalism this 4th of July by actually BEING in Europe. LAME.

But that doesn't mean we can't still rep our own way in MI! Laura and Kevin'll probably be over, too.

I think this will be awesome. :D

And maybe slightly like that episode of Mad Men when Betty gets angry because Don makes an example of her at the dinner table. We just won't buy Heineken.

Gods, I hope so

In all fairness, I've only seen the original films once each, and I was < 12 at the time. If someone wants to host a Star Wars movie marathon in the center of the state some weekend after May 15 but before July 15, so that people who have not seen these beacons of glory or what-have-you can be introduced to them, I would be down for a visit.

Also, I would bring whiskey cheesecake to make up for people having to explain things to me.

I think this is a marvelous idea. I'm not near the middle of the state, but I would totally host.

Although, stupidly and embarrassingly, I don't own any of the Star Wars films. *hides head in shame*

You. Tampa. After May 15. Bring the movies and no one gets hurt. Ghetto bon-bons (like gateau bon-bons only Americanized- tastes like pop-tarts) will be provided.

I think this can be arranged. Laura, I can pick you up on the way to Tampa if you're in! :D

Dude, I SO WISH I had a VCR. I'd love to see the old pre-George-Lucas-screwing-things-up ones. :D

Yeah, so, after May 15th is good for me too, since that is when we come back from Vancouver.

Whoops, sorry. Wrong impassioned statement. ;D
